Hot To: Toga!!

Gen Togata: “People of the Toga”

Toga parties are literally as old as the Romans.
As you drunkenly chant “TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!” with your friends, just remember that you probably aren’t even wearing one.

FUN FACT: Toga’s have always traditionally been oval, bed-sheets are not. If you make a toga with a rectangular bedsheet, then what you’re wearing is a palla (ladies) or a pallium (lads) and not a toga!

Now that’s enough boring education for the day, let’s get down to business (to defeat the huns*).

If you’re going to survive this O-week then you’re going to need to listen up! Toga know-how is essential, you don’t want to get to town only to be turned away at the door because your toga fell off during the toga march and the law forbids you from entering a club wearing nothing but underwear.

Take it from a seasoned veteran, you are going to need more safety pins. No matter how confident you are with your knot-tying skills, no matter how many “how to toga” YouTube vid’s you’ve watched – you will need safety pins. Ladies, I suggest also wearing a bikini or crop top underneath also because togas are tit-slip central.

HOW TO TOGA:

Start off by wrapping the toga around your torso, as if it were a towel but remember to cover up them nips. Leave the top left hand corner of the toga spilling out a little bit, you should feel it tickling your left armpit. Throw the remaining material over your right shoulder and tie it around your back to the little bit that should be tickling your left armpit. Grab some gold rope or a flower crown to customise your look and… Voila! You are now ready for some rough roman raving!

Now get out there and take part in a tradition that today’s civilisation was literally founded on: awkward sexual encounters… oh and togas.

*if you didn’t get that refence get out – it’s Mulan btw, ugh.
